Are Your Bedtime Habits Harming Your Back?

When it comes to back pain, it’s often those seemingly innocent habits that are to blame. And with almost half of all Brits admitting to using devices before going to sleep, the nation’s obsession with tablets, Smartphones and all things “i” has created a national bad habit that’s putting the health of our spines at risk.

Our Stoke on Trent chiropractor warns that using technological devices and watching TV in bed can cause us to lie (and even fall asleep!) in awkward positions with our spines inadequately supported. This poses the very real risk of leading to damaged posture and back or neck pain.

Ideally, TVs, tablets and smart phones should be banished from bedrooms. If you just have to check your social media or emails one final time before bed, then do so in another room before you snuggle down for the night. It may just save you from a nasty bout of back pain!
