Officially known as ‘National Playday’, Playday is the national day for play in the UK, traditionally held on the first Wednesday in August.
This year’s Playday took part on the 3rd August with community events across the country bringing children and their families together to reap the benefits of the wonderful world of play.
Our Stoke on Trent chiropractors think this awareness day is a fantastic idea and are in full support of all the events. Keeping your children active through play is a fun and effective way to promote all aspects of their physical well-being, including the health of their spines.
A recent survey undertaken by the National Trust who questioned 1,000 parents with children aged from four to 14 found that their children only spend half as long playing outside as their parents did. The results indicated that today’s children on average spend four hours each week enjoying outdoor activities.
