Don’t Try These Remedies For Back Pain At Home

Members of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) have shared some of the strangest ‘cures’ back pain sufferers have told them about trying. These include applying WD40, hanging from door frames and drinking urine!

Whilst these are more extreme ‘cures’, one of the most common misconceptions about back pain is that rest is the best cure. Consumer research undertaken by the BCA revealed that 50% of people believed that taking rest is right for a bad back. In the 16 – 24 age group this number rose to 64%.

Unfortunately rest in most instances of back pain is not the best cure. It often comes as a surprise to our patients in City Chiropractic Clinic in Stoke on Trent that staying mobile and taking moderate levels of exercise are more appropriate in the long run.
