Golf is one of the most popular sports of the summer season with many enthusiasts keen to hit the course as soon as the sun rises each day. But our Stoke on Trent chiropractor warns that going directly to the tee first thing, pulling out the driver and trying to hit the cover off the ball is one of the surest ways to strain your back.
Instead of getting straight into the “swing” of things, warm your muscles up beforehand by performing some simple stretching exercises. These stretches should focus on your torso, shoulders, hips and hamstrings – muscles regions that are critical in enabling you to play golf properly and safely.
Our chiropractor also recommends practicing a smooth and rhythmic swing before hitting the golf course as this will help to reduce the amount of stress and pain in the lower back.
Play the game. Win your spine health.
