After a long hot summer hopefully we can look forward to a lovely Autumn. Autumn can be a great time to get outdoors and take some exercise. Taking regular exercise is important for our health and as chiropractors we can’t recommend walking highly enough as a form of exercise that is suitable for people of all ages regardless of their level of fitness.
We are fortunate that in and around Stoke on Trent we have an abundance of great places to get outdoors and walk. From parks to open spaces including Westport Lake and Park Hall Country Park.
Our chiropractors at City Chiropractic Clinic in Stoke on Trent recommend you get a good pair of comfortable walking shoes that provide adequate support if you are going to do a bit of walking. When starting out take it slowly and build up your stamina.
To get the health benefits from your walking you want to walk at a faster pace than a stroll. A test is to sing your favourite song – if you’re walking at a pace that means you struggle to sing it but can speak it then that’s about right.
Get those walking shoes on and head out for some exercise.
