There’s one thing we can rely on in the UK and that’s the unreliability of the weather. After one of the hottest May’s on record, June let’s say has been cooler and damper!
Given the weather here it’s not unusual to hear that people get put off getting outdoors to take some exercise. The good news is that you don’t need to head to the gym to get your exercise in – which is good news as most gym memberships go unused!
Getting active and taking regular exercise is important to our health and to the health of our spines. Our chiropractors at City Chiropractic Clinic in Stoke on Trent encourage everyone to take regular exercise. Many people find that taking exercise and sticking to it is challenging for a number of reasons, one being is that they don’t particularly enjoy it!
Here our chiropractors share they’re two favourite forms of exercise, which are enjoyable and even fun!
Dancing: Programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing have brought dancing into our living rooms for months on end and have increased the popularity of dancing no end. It’s a great and fun way to get some exercise – it’s surprising how sweaty you can get!
Swimming: Most local areas have an indoor pool which is heated so no excuses with the weather! Swimming offers a great all-round form of exercise and is low impact. Many pools offer aqua aerobics classes which is also a fun and low impact way to get in some cardio work.
So no excuses now – get dancing and swimming for a healthier you.
Before taking up any new form of exercise check with your chiropractor or other health care professional first and they can advise you appropriately.
